Travel RNFA (Operating Room) - Saint Louis, Missouri

Position Overview

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) / Complex OR
  • Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
  • Employment Type: Travel
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Days, 4 x 10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday
  • Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours
  • Call Requirements: Required; details to be discussed during interview
  • Weekend/Holiday: No weekends, no holidays, no call on weekends

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Missouri
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of First Assist experience, including experience within the last year
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CNOR, CSFA
  • Experience assisting in GU (urology) and Orthopedic surgery

Role Summary

  • Assist surgeons during procedures including suturing and wound closure
  • Support multiple staff on leave and collaborate with newly added surgeons
  • Work independently and as part of a team in a surgical environment

Work Environment

  • Unit: Operating Room
  • Patient Type: Surgical patients (General, GU, Orthopedic)
  • Dress Code: Black scrubs provided by facility for OR

Additional Information

  • Flu vaccination required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1 (exemptions require approval)
  • Facility uses EPIC electronic medical records system
  • No weekend or holiday shifts; call requirements apply on weekdays
