Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse with Cardiology and Intermediate Care (IMC) experience for a night shift position in a 24-bed unit. The role involves caring for adult to geriatric patients with various cardiac and medical conditions in a Level III trauma center environment.
Shift Details
- Night shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- 36 to 48 hours per week (3 or 4 twelve-hour shifts)
- Weekend hours vary every other week
- No call requirements
- Floating to other units as needed (PCU, Medical, Surgical, Nephrology)
Patient Care Ratios
- IMC patients: 1 RN to 3-5 patients depending on shift
- Med/Surg patients: 1 RN to 5-6 patients
Required Certifications
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license in New Mexico
- Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
- Cardiology experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Additional Information
- Must be able to float to other units as needed
- Patient population ranges from adult to geriatric
- Associate degree in nursing or higher required

Pros
Unit is comprised of many travelers. Core staff and travelers have all been fantastic! The unit is set up quite well to manage the surges of patients. It is the only main hospital around so it can definitely provide good experience. Most of the providers I've encountered over the last couple months actually listen to the nurses and are easy to work with.
Cons
It is definitely busy before the size of the town. I can't say I have any other cons.
