Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse with inpatient rehabilitation experience to provide skilled nursing care in a 49-bed acute inpatient rehabilitation unit. The unit serves adults requiring rehabilitation for conditions such as stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other high-acuity needs. The role involves working 12-hour shifts with every other weekend and holiday rotations, including call requirements.
Work Schedule
- Shifts: 12-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM; 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Weekend Hours: Every other weekend and holiday rotations
- Call: Yes
- Breaks: Two 15-minute paid breaks and one 30-minute unpaid break per 12-hour shift
Unit Information
- Number of Beds: 49
- Patient Ratio: 1:7
- Patient Population: Adults requiring inpatient rehabilitation with high acuity needs
- Equipment: Mobility aids (ceiling lifts, Sara Stedy, Sara Plus, slide boards), vital sign machines, EKG, blood glucose monitors, computers for charting
- Electronic Health Record (EHR): EPIC
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of rehabilitation nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in an inpatient rehabilitation setting
- Med-Surg nursing experience
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Additional Information
- Nurses are expected to assist with patient care tasks including helping CNAs and responding to call lights to ensure patient safety
- No current float requirements, but may be required to float to a nearby satellite inpatient rehab facility within 20 minutes in the future
- Strict adherence to attendance and tardy policies
- Staff must clock out for 30-minute breaks and are not permitted to stay past shift end time without approval
Orientation Dates (2026)
Orientation sessions are scheduled throughout the year on various dates.

- Local candidates are not accepted for this position.
- The inpatient rehab unit functions similarly to a medical-surgical unit with high acuity patient care needs.
