Job Opportunity: RN - Emergency Department (Travel)

Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit Information

  • Unit: Emergency Department (Main Campus)
  • Number of Beds: 52
  • Staffing:
    • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 nurses, 1 tech, 1 unit clerk, 1 physician, 1 midlevel provider per pod
    • Night Shift: Same as day shift
  • Patient Ratios:
    • Average: 3:1
    • Low acuity: 5:1
    • Pediatrics: Team nursing
  • Equipment: Alaris infusion pumps
  • EMR System: Meditech

Required Certifications and Licenses

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
  • NIH Certification
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • Registered Nurse License (Kansas)
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Emergency Nursing (highest required)
  • Experience working in large facility emergency departments preferred (52 beds or larger)
  • Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
  • Experience in traveling or working at large facilities preferred
