Contract Length: 13 weeks

Med/Surg Nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on scientific nursing principles. Responsibilities include:

Collaborate with healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
Prepare, administer, and document medications (oral, subcutaneous, IV) and report adverse reactions
Educate patients on surgical procedures and post-treatment home care
Record medical information and vital signs
Monitor and adjust specialized patient equipment, interpret electronic displays
Respond to life-saving situations per nursing standards and protocols
Provide bedside care for a variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery
Change dressings, insert catheters, start IVs
Assist physicians during examinations and treatments
Participate in discharge planning
Utilize time management skills and maintain accurate, timely documentation
Perform other position-related duties as assigned
