Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg (Nights)

Location: West Des Moines, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Work primarily on a 34-bed unit specializing in orthopedics and total joint replacements.
Administer specific cardiac medications via IV/intravenous push (highly preferred).
Required to float across multiple campuses within the local area.
Expected to work 36-40 hours per week; overtime applies after 40 hours.
Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed.
Use EPIC electronic medical records system.
Nurse-to-patient ratios: Days 1:5, Nights 1:6.
Dress code: navy blue solid scrubs.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Iowa
Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical experience, including experience within the last year
Orthopedics and Rehabilitation experience, including care for total joint replacements and braces
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Valid driver’s license
Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system
