• Job Description:
  Provides care to patients undergoing radiation therapy treatments. Must be familiar with radiation equipment and radioactive sources, with expertise in measuring and generating radiation dose distributions and calculations under the direction of an Oncologist and/or Medical Physicist.

Required Certifications (Verify applicability by position)

• CMD (required)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – AHA/AAP only, Instructor or Advanced Provider Course
• CCRN (Critical Care RN)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – valid for 4 years
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – typically for Labor & Delivery
• Tech Certification Verification – required within 30 days of start, as applicable
• State License Verification – primary source online verification within 30 days of start
• NURSYS Verification (for RN, LPN/LVN, AP) – within 30 days of start
• IV Certification (for LVN/LPN/Other) – may be required for some MRI and CT Techs
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
• NIH Stroke Certification
• Miscellaneous Certifications (e.g., Nuchal Translucency and Nasal Bone Imaging for Maternal-Fetal Ultrasound Technologists)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)

Background Check Requirements

• 7-year background check within 6 months of start, including:

  • Social Security Trace with all aliases
  • County searches for last 7 years of locations lived/worked/schooled
  • Nationwide Sex Offender Search (within 90 days of start)
  • Education Verification (highest level achieved, not required if high school)
  • FACIS Level 3 screening within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC Sanctions List (if FACIS III cannot be run)
  • Transcript/Diploma verification as needed
• Annual background check required by Aya Healthcare (not necessarily by client)
• Pending background check attestation may be required if delays occur

Competency Exams (as applicable)

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
• General Competency Exam (minimum passing score 80% or Angoff score)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (may be required for some Tele units)

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical Exam: Required within 1 year of start; must state "cleared for work" or equivalent
• Fit Mask Test: Required within 1 year of start; annual renewal required
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Adult TDAP within 10 years or lifetime TDAP with booster within 10 years
• TB Screening: Negative QGold or TSPOT within 90 days or 2 PPDs (1st within 1 year, 2nd within 90 days); annual renewal required
• Rubeola (Measles): Positive IGG titer or 2 vaccines at least 28 days apart; boosters required if no prior immunization
• Mumps: Positive IGG titer or 2 vaccines at least 28 days apart; boosters required if no prior immunization
• Rubella: Positive IGG titer or 1 vaccine; booster required if no prior immunization
• Hepatitis B: Positive IGG titer, series of 3, or signed declination; must complete series if started
• Varicella: Positive IGG titer or 2 vaccines at least 28 days apart; boosters required if no prior immunization
• Drug Testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months; marijuana excluded due to CA law
• Flu Vaccination: Required during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30); declination accepted with mask requirement
• Color Blind Exam: In-person exam required if applicable
• Respiratory Safety Clearance: Required prior to start; annual renewal required
