Overview

• Travel/contract role in Rochester, New York
• 13-week contract
• Night shift: 4x12, 19:00–7:00
• Every other weekend
• 26-bed Intermediate Care unit (IMCU)
• Locals must live within a 75-mile radius
• First-time travelers accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with Epic

Unit / Clinical Context

• Intermediate Care unit (IMCU) is a critical care step-down unit
• Receives patients from the Emergency Department, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, and medical-surgical floors
• Adult acute care population
• Continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring
• Cares for patients needing airway management, acute BIPAP support, arterial lines, central lines, and titrated medicated IV infusions

Skills / Clinical Responsibilities

• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Peripheral line care/management
• Nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tank, and non-invasive airway management
• Isolation precautions
