Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Overview

Travel/contract role in Utica, New York
13-week assignment
Night shift: 3x12 hours, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
36 hours per week
Every other weekend required
No block schedule guaranteed
Holiday coverage may include Christmas Eve/Day or New Year’s Eve/Day, depending on scheduling

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in New York
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
ED - Emergency Department (3 years of experience)
ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
One completed travel assignment
Experience with Epic
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course
NIHSS

Pediatric experience

Unit Details

Emergency department in a high-acuity setting
68-bed unit with super track, psych, trauma, results pending, and occasional hallway beds
Level III trauma center
Comprehensive Stroke Center
Regional Cardiac Center
Pediatrics present in the unit

Support Staff

PCT support
First-look RN
Triage RN
Charge RN
Secretary
RT support on occasion
Lab support on occasion
Critical response RN

Common Drips

TNK
Cleviprex
Level 1 infusion for MTP

Orientation

Half-day clinical orientation
Half-day shadowing with a nurse

Additional Notes

Parking is available at no charge
SANE experience may be asked about, and comfort with caring for a patient needing that exam may also be discussed
