Overview

• Travel/Contract RN role in Charlotte, North Carolina
• Night shift: 4x12 hours, 18:45–07:15
• 48 hours per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Local candidates are accepted

Unit / Patient Population

• Neuro Stepdown / PCU / DOU / IMC / Stepdown & Telemetry
• Intermediate patient population with neurological and medical intermediate patients
• Unit has 24 rooms/beds
• Average daily census: up to 24 patients
• Ratio: 1:4

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Intermediate Care (2 years of experience)
• Intermediate Care experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS
• Ability to titrate LEVO (Levophed/norepinephrine)
• Ability to titrate cardiac drips
• Ability to titrate vasoactive drips
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Management of dysrhythmias
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills
• TR Band (transradial band) management
• IV insulin protocols
• Titration of insulin drips
• Feeding tube care and management
• Experience with Epic

• Charge Nurse Experience

Float / Scheduling

• No call requirement
• Float to other intermediate areas such as 6a, 5A PCTU, 5C Cardiac Intermediate, and critical care (ICU/Stepdown patients)
• Minimum of 3 weekend shifts every 6 weeks
• Scheduling is per unit needs
• 32 hours of orientation: 8-hour computer class plus two shifts on the unit

• RTO after booking is not allowed
• Scrubs are not provided; navy blue and white are required
• Unit max is 24 patients
