Job Opportunity: Case Manager (Registered Nurse)
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day
- Shift Times (may vary):
- 07:00 - 15:30
- 07:30 - 16:00
- 08:00 - 16:30
- 08:30 - 17:00
- Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for one 8-hour shift every 2 weeks)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 4 weekend days in a 4-week schedule
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: Clinician may float within scope to meet facility needs
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated
- Locals: Not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility
- Orientation: Reduced Non-Billable Orientation (0 hours vs. standard 40 hours)

Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska
- Minimum 1 year of Case Management experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Acute care experience
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Scheduling and Time Off
- Only one time off request allowed per 13-week assignment, up to 5 days or less
- No holiday time off requests allowed for auto offer candidates
Required Documentation and Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (as applicable)
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
- Education verification (nursing degree)
- NURSYS license verification for RNs
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination (positive titer and vaccine series required for Alaska placements)
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
- COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations accepted)
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months
- Respirator clearance (RespSafety) required annually for travel candidates
- Fit mask test required annually for travel candidates
- References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in comparable specialty/setting
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment
- Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable)
Training and Competencies
- Annual completion of regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
- Epic training modules required and must be completed within a week of orientation
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Additional certifications may be required based on unit or specialty (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification)
Additional Requirements
- Must complete float policy acknowledgement (may be required to float to other nearby facilities)
- Candidates must comply with all state-specific background and licensing requirements
- Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required
Notes
- This position does not require prior travel experience
- Candidates with pending Alaska RN license will be screened but license in hand is required for auto offer
- No local candidates accepted (must live 50+ miles away)
- Reduced orientation hours compared to standard
