Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - SICU (Travel/Contract)
Location: York, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Job Description
- Position in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) on a night shift schedule.
- May float to all ICU floors as needed.
- Weekend work every other week (EOW).
- Holiday shifts as needed.
- Candidate may care for COVID-19 patients.
- Tobacco and fragrance-free facility.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), with at least some experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Certifications:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
Background Checks & Verifications
- 7-year criminal background check required within 30 days of start; updated annually.
- Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required within 1 year of start; must be finalized before starting.
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance required; results must be on file within 45 days of assignment start.
- PA Department of Human Services FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; results must be on file within 45 days.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
- Education verification of highest degree/diploma/transcripts required.
- Pending background check attestation required if any results are pending at start.
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT.
- Negative QGold or TSpot TB test within 90 days of start (PPD not accepted).
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (positive titer or full vaccine series plus declination form)
- Varicella
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years of start.
- Seasonal flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
- COVID-19 vaccine, medical/religious exemption, or declination accepted.
- N95 fit test within 12 months of start, updated annually (approved mask types specified).
- Respiratory safety clearance required within 1 year of start, renewed annually.
- Negative 9-panel drug test within 1 year of start (specific to agency requirements).
Facility-Specific Documents
- Passport-style photo for badge.
- Review and sign facility documents including:
- Commitment to Health & Wellness
- Code of Conduct
- Confidentiality Agreement
- Non-Employee Affidavit
- Completion of Learning Management System (LMS) modules on PC/laptop prior to start.
- New hire orientation to be completed by end of first day.

- Manager interview required after clinical screening.
- No call requirements.
- Candidate must be prepared to work in a tobacco and fragrance-free environment.
- All health documentation must include two identifying markers (e.g., full name, DOB, or SSN).
- Background and health documents have specific expiration and renewal timelines.

Loved the people! Found them really easy to work with and they have a lot of very knowledgeable staff members. As long as you know what you’re doing and willing to help out in any way they are more than happy to work with you!
Cons
Sometimes the schedule can be confusing with rotating shifts and call schedules that don’t align well with your scheduled shifts. But again if there is a major concern they’ll try and work with you on it!
