Job Opportunity: Case Manager (Registered Nurse)

Job Description

• Manage a caseload of 25-30 adult and geriatric patients daily in an acute care hospital setting.
• Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (5 days x 8 hours), plus one full weekend every 4 weeks. Weekend coverage focuses on observation patients and facilitating safe discharges.
• No call or holiday shifts required.
• Must be able to function effectively in a high-paced, high-volume environment.
• Hurricane sign-up required but not guaranteed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Florida.
• Minimum 3 years of case management experience, including experience within the last year.
• Case management experience specifically in an acute care hospital setting.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Experience with electronic health record systems including Epic, Cerner, and Allscripts.

Additional Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID must be carried during work hours.
• Background check within 6 months of start date, including alias, SSN trace, nationwide and county checks, and sex offender registry.
• Education verification required; candidates from fraudulent nursing schools will be disqualified.
• Physical exam within 6 months of start, signed by a licensed provider, confirming ability to perform job duties without restrictions.
• Annual fit mask test with approved mask models (3M 1860 Regular or Small).
• Negative QuantiFERON TB test within 6 months or chest X-ray if previously positive.
• Annual TB questionnaire.
• Immunization requirements:

  • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola, Mumps, and Rubella (boosters required if low/equivocal titers).
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination.
  • 2 Varicella vaccines, positive titer, or declination (boosters required if low/equivocal titers).
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months (instant tests not accepted).
• Two professional references from the last 2 years required.
• Completion of multiple mandatory online orientation and training modules prior to start, including but not limited to:

  • Clinical/Online Orientation
  • Annual Risk Management
  • General Compliance & Ethics Training
  • Code of Conduct
  • Comprehensive Emergency Management
  • Preventing & Reporting Workplace Harassment
  • Stroke and Stroke Core Measures Review
  • Privacy Policy and AHCA Affidavit
  • Nursing-specific modules such as IV Medication Administration, Recognizing Impairment, and others as applicable.
• Badge photo required (passport-style, color, white background).

Shift Details

• Day shift: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
• One full weekend every 4 weeks (2-3 weekend days per month).

Notes

• Locals within a 60-mile radius are considered.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.

This position is ideal for experienced acute care case management RNs comfortable with high patient volumes and electronic health record systems, seeking a travel contract in Florida with a structured day shift and minimal on-call responsibilities.
