Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist
Location: Columbia, Missouri

Job Description
- Support Neuro and Body Interventional Radiology procedures using single and biplane radiography units.
- Procedures include Y90, TIPs, chemo embolization, UFE, PAE, trauma, stroke, carotid stent, drains, biopsies, lumbar punctures, kyphoplasty, lines, ports, filters, peripheral stents, AV fistula declot/stenting, PE/DVTs.
- Work with trauma level 1 and stroke center patients across outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Patient populations include adults, geriatrics, and pediatrics with all acuity levels.
- Utilize fluoroscopy (Siemens) and ultrasound (Phillips) equipment.
- Work in a department with 2 biplane rooms, 2 single plane rooms, and a dedicated ultrasound room.
- Call requirements: 1 weekend per month and 1-2 days of call per week; 2 techs on call each shift (primary and secondary).
- No local candidates within 50 miles accepted.
- Physical demands include ambulating, reaching, and moving objects over 20 lbs.
- Exposure to patients with contagious illnesses is routine.
- Facility operates 24/7, requiring rotating shifts, holidays, and work during inclement weather.
- Must be able to work the full term of the contract, assigned shifts, take call, work weekends, and at least 50% of holidays during the contract.
Schedule
- Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- 40 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Interventional Radiology (Neuro and Body procedures).
- First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience not required).
- Valid Radiologic Technologist license for Missouri (as required).
- ARRT certification required; ARRT number must be provided.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC Provider card).
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required for Interventional Radiology.
- Photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) required.
- Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and state-specific searches required within 60 days of start.
- Negative 7-panel drug screen within 60 days of start.
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years or approved exemption.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; annual updates required.
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity verification or vaccination.
- Hepatitis B series or positive titer; boosters required if titers are low.
- Varicella immunity or vaccination.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31).
- Fit mask test valid within 1 year (3M models specified); must notify supervisor if failed.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, initiated within 48 hours of contract signing.
- Completion of facility-specific documents and acknowledgments within 60 days of start.
- Two professional references from the last 2 years required.
- Resume must document at least 7 years of employment history with no gaps over 30 days.
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment including trauma and stroke cases.
- Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team including 5 Body IR physicians and 3 Neurointerventional physicians.
- Must be comfortable working with advanced imaging technology and electronic medical records (Cerner Powerchart, McKesson PACS).
- Must comply with all facility policies including confidentiality, safety, and infection control.
