Job Opportunity: Cytotechnologist (Cyto Tech) - Travel/Contract
Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
Schedule: 5x8s (8:00 AM - 5:30 PM)

Job Description
- Perform cytotechnologist duties with a workload of 10 to 12 slides per hour.
- Maintain quality standards with no HSIL (High-grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion) misses.
- Work within a 50-mile radius rule.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cytotechnology.
Required Qualifications
- ASCP-CT (American Society for Clinical Pathology - Cytotechnologist) certification required.
- Valid state license for Cytotechnologist as applicable.
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and other standard screenings.
- Government-issued photo ID required during hours of service.
- Proof of I9 or attestation.
- Drug testing within 2 months of start, updated annually (10-panel including marijuana and fentanyl).
- Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands, updated annually.
- Immunizations and health documentation including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination (no declinations allowed).
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as per facility requirements.
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella vaccinations or positive titers.
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer positive or appropriate follow-up testing.
- Varicella vaccination or titer (declination accepted but required).
- Seasonal flu vaccination (no exemptions or declinations accepted).
- Completion of facility-specific documents such as professional appearance guidelines, release authorization, TB screening, and traveler compliance forms.
- Pass/Fail cardiac rhythm assessment not required for this specialty.
- National certification verification required within 30 days of start.
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations.
- Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable, updated annually.
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
- Certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification are not required for this specialty unless otherwise specified by the unit.
- Fingerprinting may be required depending on unit assignment.
- Background checks and registries specific to Virginia state requirements apply.
- Fit testing required for patient-facing clinical roles, completed onsite if needed.
