Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS Float Pool RN)

Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Hours: 36 hours/week
  • Weekend Requirement: Minimum 3-4 weekend shifts scheduled
  • Holiday Rotation: Required
  • Float Assignment: Med Surg floors at Main hospital and Ashley River tower
  • Patient Ratios: May vary depending on unit assigned
  • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
  • Schedule Flexibility: Block scheduling possible with manager approval, dependent on unit needs
  • Local Radius: 60 miles
  • Locals Accepted: Yes, on a case-by-case basis

Experience & Licensure Requirements

    • Tdap within 10 years or declination form
    • Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days or proof of prior positive with follow-up CXR
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titer or vaccination series required; boosters if low titer
    • Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination required
    • Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season (Aug 1 - Apr 30); medical/religious exemptions accepted but no declinations
    • COVID Vaccines: Not required but highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
  • Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start
  • Other: Annual TB questionnaire required

Background & Verification

  • Annual background check covering last 7 years of residence/employment
  • Employment verification of last 3 clinical employers (or all if fewer than 3)
  • Education verification required; diploma or transcripts accepted as placeholder if needed

This position is suitable for RNs with at least 2 years of experience, willing to work night shifts and weekends, and able to float between medical-surgical units. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
