Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Florence, South Carolina

Position Details
- Role: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (Days: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call: No
- Floating: Required within scope to all hospital areas including labor and delivery
- Floating to Sister Facilities: No
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent critical care experience (RRT only, no CRT)
- License: South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider (SC RCP) license required at start
- Certifications: Must have at start:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AHA/AAP only, full eCard with QR code required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- NBRC (RRT) certification
- First-timers: Not accepted
- Radiation Badge: Not required for this role/location
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (must be willing to travel)
- Block Scheduling: Not accommodated

- Background Checks:
- Annual background check covering last 7 years of residence/employment
- Includes SSN trace, state and national criminal checks, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
- International searches required
- Education Verification: Not required for this facility
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Performance Evaluation: Must be dated within 12 months of start
- Employment Application/Resume: Required
- Work History Verification: Not required for this facility
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical Exam: Initial and annual update required, attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Immunizations & Titers:
- Tdap within 10 years or declination form
- Negative TB test (2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold within 90 days; if positive, chest X-ray required)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer
- Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination form
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer
- Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season (Aug 1 - Apr 30); medical/religious exemptions accepted but no declinations
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required but highly preferred; vaccination records must be uploaded or declination form completed
- Respirator Clearance: Annual medical clearance required for respirator use via RespSafety questionnaire
Certifications & Competencies
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Competency exam required
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA attestation) required
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification may be required if floating to labor and delivery (AWHONN or NCC accepted)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) as required
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Completion of First Day Instructions (FDI) and OurDay modules prior to start (approx. 4 hours)
- Clear, passport-style photo for badge
- Signed documents prior to start: Assignment Acknowledgment, Code of Conduct, Employee Confidentiality Agreement, Systems User Agreement, User Access Request, HIPAA Confidentiality Agreement
- Review and acknowledge MINI Orientation
- Upload COVID and Flu vaccination documentation into OurDay platform
- Physical Assessment for Sterile Processors not applicable for this role
Additional Notes
- All certifications must be valid beyond 30 days from start date; expiring certifications must be renewed or have a course scheduled before start
- SC RCP license processing times vary; temporary walk-through license option available if eligible
- All licensure and certification hits must be approved by facility prior to start
This position is ideal for experienced RRTs with critical care background who are licensed in South Carolina and comfortable with travel assignments and floating within hospital departments.
