Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (6:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
• Total Hours per Week: 40

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Minimum 2 years of clinic experience, including ambulatory care, with at least some experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Standard background checks including 7-year location history, sex offender registry, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG screenings
• Education verification via transcript, diploma, or equivalent
• Fire Card issued by an LAFD-approved instructor must be obtained within 30 days of start (Blue Fire Card only; Red card not accepted)
• Facility-specific attestation and agreements including de-escalation modules, arbitration agreement, voluntary meal waiver, access request form, and assault response competency (ARC) training within 30 days of start
• Submission of a passport-style photo for badge issuance

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam clearance within the past year
• Fit mask testing within 12 months prior to start (acceptable masks: 3M Aura 9205+ or 3M 1860 Small)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
• Negative TB test (QGold, Tspot, or 2-step PPD) within 12 months or chest X-ray if past positive
• Required immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (3-vaccine series or positive titer; declination only with proof of prior vaccination or negative titer)
  • Varicella
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (September through March)
• COVID-19 vaccination or documented declination
• 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Color vision exam (14-plate Ishihara test) required for certain specialties/units

Additional Requirements

• Completion of orientation checklists within the first 30 days of assignment, including general orientation, unit-specific competency, CORE competency, and unit tour checklists
• Employment application and professional references as applicable (2 references for travel/allied/per diem acute care; 1 reference for per diem non-acute care)
