Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Work Schedule

  • Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts (6:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
  • Weekend call required: 4 shifts every 6 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Maryland
  • Minimum 2 years of CVOR nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • I-9 and E-Verify attestation required upon hire
  • Valid driver’s license if driving is an essential job function
  • Criminal background check within 90 days, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to and during assignment
  • Education verification of highest degree required by position
  • Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
  • Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job without accommodations and free from communicable disease
  • N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed)
  • Immunization and health requirements including:
    • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; annual TB questionnaire required
    • Documentation of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
    • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination documentation
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Sept–March)

Competency Requirements

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam within 3 years, minimum 80% score
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam within 1 year, updated annually, minimum 80% overall and 100% lethal rhythms section (specific to cardiac specialties)
  • Color blindness testing (online or in-person)
  • Annual skills checklist and competency exam

References & Work History

  • Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
  • Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information
  • Verification of minimum 2 years of recent employment, including at least one travel assignment or one month of per diem work for travel contracts

Additional Notes

  • Facility-specific orientation modules must be completed prior to start
  • Clear, professional photo required for badge issuance
  • Annual safety manual acknowledgement required
  • Some certifications (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM) may be required based on unit assignment but are not specified for this role
