Job Opportunity: Pediatric IV Therapy Registered Nurse

Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide pediatric IV therapy with ultrasound-guided IV placement and vein finder experience.
  • Must have experience working on a pediatric vascular access team.
  • Pediatric vascular access experience required, including areas such as Hematology/Oncology and ICU.
  • Care for pediatric to adult populations.
  • IV placement skills are essential.
  • Weekend shifts required.
  • Guaranteed 36 hours per week.
  • Day/Night rotation with 12-hour shifts.
  • Shift start times rotate between:
    • 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
    • 11:00 AM – 11:30 PM
    • 3:00 PM – 3:30 AM

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Massachusetts
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 2 years of infusion experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience working with pediatric patients
  • Ultrasound-guided IV placement experience
  • Vein finder experience
  • Vascular access experience, including Hematology/Oncology and ICU experience
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Proof of name change if applicable.
  • Background checks including 10-year criminal history and various federal/state exclusions.
  • Statewide clearance (MA iCORI) within 60 days of start.
  • Verification of professional certifications within 30 days of start.
  • Physical exam within 1 year, cleared to work without restrictions.
  • Immunizations and health requirements including:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap acceptable, no declinations)
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray (annual requirement)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer proof
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or approved exemption (required during flu season)
    • COVID-19 vaccination series or approved exemption
  • Drug screening (9-panel) within last 12 months (not required for advanced practice nurses).
  • Respiratory safety clearance required for all travelers.
  • Professional references: 2 verified from last 3 employers.
  • Employment application with 10-year work history; explanations required for gaps over 30 days.
  • Unit-specific skills checklist within 1 year prior to start.

Additional Notes

  • First-time travelers are accepted.
  • Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted.
  • Rotation includes day and night shifts with weekend requirements.
  • Compliance with all health and facility-specific onboarding and documentation processes is mandatory.
