Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Job Description
- Assignment duration: 16-32 weeks (this specific opening is for 26 weeks)
- Work setting: ICU/Adult Care, PICU/Pediatric Care, and NICU Level III
- Schedule: Weekends as needed, no call, schedule flexibility required
- Many RT-driven protocols involved
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Epic electronic medical record experience within the past 2 years is mandatory
- No block schedules allowed
- Reliable transportation required (public transportation not accessible)
- Vehicle should have all-season or snow tires from November to April
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Vermont
- Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- Certifications required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record system
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Education verification (Bachelor’s or higher in relevant field)
- State license primary source verification within 30 days of start and upon expiration
- Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as required
- Color blindness testing required
- Vermont Adult and Child Abuse Registry consent and search
- COVID-19 vaccination or declination required, plus COVID questionnaire and testing protocols
- Flu vaccination or exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years or titer
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within past 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- N95 fit test required prior to assignment and updated annually (specific mask types accepted)
- Drug testing as required (varies by state)
- Professional references: 2 verified from assignments within last 3 years
- Skills checklist within 12 months
- Work history verification for last 2 years
Additional Notes
- All specialties worked must be well documented on each employment entry
- All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
- Orientation sessions held bi-weekly on Mondays
- No block scheduling allowed
- Must complete EPIC and Cornerstone modules prior to start
- Reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended due to lack of public transportation
- Facility requires photo for badge with specific guidelines (plain background, no logos, hats, or sunglasses)
This opportunity is ideal for experienced RRTs with pediatric and neonatal ICU experience, who are comfortable working in a teaching hospital environment and have recent Epic EMR experience.
