Job Opportunity: MRI Tech

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Saturday, Sunday, Monday, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• On-Call: One weeknight call per week and rotating weekend call required
• Weekend Requirement: Rotate working approximately every 3rd or 4th Saturday
• Daily Caseload: Approximately 12-20 exams per day
• Years of Experience Required: 2 years
• First-Time Travelers: Not accepted
• Local Candidates: Accepted within a 75-mile radius
• Floating: May float within scope to nearby facilities
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Facility Type

• Short Term Acute Care
• Small department with 2 MRI scanners (Siemens Vida 3T, Siemens 1.5T)
• Not a trauma center
• Patient population includes many geriatric and obese patients

Required Certifications and Licenses

• License: Must hold a valid Missouri state license (pending state license accepted)
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • ARRT Advanced Certification

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of MRI Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• Current BLS certification
• Current ARRT certification
• Current ARRT Advanced Certification

Compliance and Background Requirements

• Government-issued ID required
• Criminal background check within 6 months of start date (including statewide and nationwide searches)
• Education verification of highest related degree required
• Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include standard panels and be valid throughout assignment
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask testing required and must be renewed annually
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • Tdap vaccine or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
• Various facility-specific compliance documents including HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, hand hygiene, dress code, and regulatory compliance education must be completed prior to start

Additional Requirements

• Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
• Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists may be required
• Must adhere to facility policies including fingernail, dress code, and hand hygiene policies
• Badge photo required (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)

Notes

• This position does not accept first-time travelers; prior travel experience is required.
• Floating to nearby facilities may be required within the scope of practice.
• Candidates must be prepared for weekend and on-call responsibilities.
