Job Opportunity: RN - Surgical Cardiac

Location: Des Moines, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Night Shift)
Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Iowa
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of Medical/Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS certification

Health and Safety Requirements

• Fit test (respirator)
• 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC)
• COVID-19 vaccine proof (including booster by Sept 2025) or approved exemption (declination not accepted in CA or IL)
• Influenza vaccine proof or declination (optional)
• MMR: proof of 2 vaccinations or IgG titer
• Hepatitis B vaccination series initiated prior to start (titers not accepted)
• Varicella: proof of vaccination or IgG titer
• Tdap vaccine (declinations accepted if no pediatric interaction)
• 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with chest x-ray if positive TB as per regional requirements
• Physical/health statement confirming fitness to work within the last year
• Color vision test

Background and Compliance Checks

• Federal, nationwide, and county criminal background check (last 7 years), including SSN verification, dated within 30 days of start
• Iowa-specific criminal history, sex offender, dependent adult & child abuse registry check (within 30 days prior to start)
• EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check dated within 30 days
• OIG (Office of Inspector General) exclusion check dated within 30 days
• NSO (National Sex Offender) check dated within 30 days
• Conflict of Interest Disclosure form
• Code of Conduct form
• Confidentiality and Information System Security Agreement
• Integrity and Audit Services form
• Non-Employee Upload form (specific to Iowa)
• System Access form (to be completed and uploaded one week before start)

• Resume and skills checklist (within the past year)
• Two professional references
• Education verification (highest level of academic education)
• Specialty exam documentation
• All required licenses, certifications, and health records uploaded to credentialing system

Additional Notes

• Agency will provide the specialty skills checklist for clinical contractors
• Position requires working every other weekend and every other holiday
• Night shift hours from 7 PM to 7:30 AM
