RN Medical/Surgical Job Opportunity

Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Job Requirements & Commitments

• Must start on or before June 8th.
• Must commit to working both July 4th and Labor Day holidays.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kansas.
• Minimum of 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training.
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.

Certifications & Training (Must be completed prior to or at onboarding)

• Ascension Core Competencies: HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics with a minimum passing score of 80%.
• NIH Certification (updated yearly or every two years depending on group).
• Ascension EKG Exam: Passing score of at least 80%, updated every 3 years.
• MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training.
• Ascension Cerner Test-Out with signed attestation.
• Ascension Skills Checklist for specialty, updated annually.
• Fit Test for respiratory protection, preferably completed prior to start.
• Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding and related pre-hire modules.

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Ascension Color Vision test completed prior to start and updated every 3 years.
• Documentation of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted.
• Documentation of two Varicella vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history; no declinations accepted.
• Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination.
• Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31); declinations accepted with mask requirement.
• Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
• 2-Step PPD or IGRA testing with negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire if applicable.
• Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
• Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually.

Additional Onboarding Requirements

• Signed assignment agreement and confirmation of assignment documentation.
• Completion of Ascension Profile (resume or profile).
• Ascension Employment Verification covering the past seven years.
• Ascension Badge Photo: Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations.
• Driver’s license/state ID must be current and match address on file.
