Required Qualifications

• RN license
• BLS certification
• Must be able to care for a wide variety of patients
• Willingness to teach (precept) and learn
• Driver’s license required at submittal
• Cannot be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity

Preferred

• Charge nurse / house supervisor experience is preferred

Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts
• Self-scheduling
• Every other weekend
• Holidays required
• No call or standby

Unit Details

• Patient ratios: 1:5-6
• Nurse aide ratios: 1:10-14
• Common patient types: Cardiology, Surgical Oncology, Urology, complex general Med Surg patients
• Telemetry on the unit
• Centralized monitoring techs
• RNs read basic strips
• Common titratable / set-rate drips: IVF
• RT equipment: nasal cannula, <6L if acute, trach collar
• Floating: per skill level
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Orientation: 1-2 days, 12-hour days

Other Requirements / Notes

• Pass/fail exam during orientation; open-book skills exam with a required 90% passing score
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
