Cath Lab Tech Opportunity - Martinsburg, West Virginia

Position Overview

Specialty: Cath Lab Tech
Location: Martinsburg, WV
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (some 10-hour shifts 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
Call: Approximately 10-11 call shifts per month, Monday - Friday 3:30 PM - 7:00 AM
Weekend Requirement: Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM (same as RNs)
Holidays: Covered by call shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Unit Details

Department: Cath Lab & Interventional Radiology (IR)
Facilities: 7 suites/holding rooms and 2 cath labs (2 bays & 5 rooms)
Team: 3-person team (2 RNs and 1 tech)
Typical Cases: 2 to 9 cases per day (average 4-5)
Common Procedures: Adult cardiac cases including peripheral cath, PCI, devices, ICD, pacers; no EP or ablations
Equipment/Systems:
- EMR: "Cupid" (EPIC & Dynamics system is Xper)
- Telemetry: Phillips, hardwired at bedside
- Pharmacy: Omnicell with some meds mixed in lab
- Ventilator support by RT if needed (RT called from ICU)

Certifications & Experience Requirements

Minimum Experience: 2 years in Cath Lab
Certifications:
- ACLS (AHA)
- BLS (AHA)
- Certified Radiologic Technologist - ARRT (R) verification required
- WV License/ARRT required for CV Invasive Rad Techs (RCIS not accepted)
Additional Skills: Experience with IABP, IVUS preferred; familiarity with Acist injector helpful but not required (training provided)

Orientation & Training

2 shifts with a preceptor
Followed by a "buddy call" period in Cath Lab
May float to Non-Invasive CV to start IVs

Additional Information

Scrubs provided (RNs wear Navy Blue, Rad Techs wear Burgundy)
Cardiologists on-call 24/7
Call response time expectations same for RNs and techs
Travel teams must be submitted together; only 2 candidates submitted per opening
COVID-19 vaccine required (2 Moderna/Pfizer shots or 1 J&J); medical/religious exemptions require approval
Background checks required at time of submission

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab Techs seeking a 13-week contract in a busy adult cardiac interventional setting with a supportive team environment and comprehensive orientation.
