Job Opportunity: Med Surg Admissions Nurse (2A)

Location: Fargo, North Dakota
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Experience & Skills

Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience (higher value confirmed)
Level 1 Trauma Center experience required
EPIC electronic medical record system experience required
BLS certification (AHA) required
Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment

Job Description

Work in a 15-bed Medical/Surgical admissions unit with all private rooms
Unit admits patients ready to be discharged from the ER but not yet assigned to a specific unit
Perform initial admissions and provide care until patients are transferred to their new unit
Float to other Medical/Surgical units as needed

Equipment Used

EPIC system
Zebra phones for communication
Omnicell medication dispensing system
Aleris IV pumps

Shift & Schedule

12-hour shifts (0700-1930 or 1900-0730)
Every other weekend and every other holiday off
No on-call required
Rotating day/night shifts

Nurse to Patient Ratio

Day shift: 5:1
Night shift: 6:1

Dress Code

Navy Blue Scrubs

Additional Notes

Must be willing to float to other units within the Medical/Surgical department
New medical/surgical unit with a fast-paced environment
