- 36 hours per week
- 12-hour night shifts
Unit Overview
- Adult cardiac intensive care unit
- 20 private, monitored beds
- Patient acuity can range from 1:1 to 2:1
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- CVICU (2 years of experience)
- CVICU experience within the last year
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience
- Ability to interpret cardiac strips
- Ability to titrate drips
Preferred Qualifications
- ACLS
- CCRN
Clinical Experience
- Care for post-open-heart surgical patients and other complex cardiovascular ICU patients
- Experience with ventilated patients and advanced cardiac support devices is relevant
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
Schedule
- Every other weekend
- Every other holiday
- No self-scheduling
- No block scheduling
Floating
- Float to every level of care
- Expected to take a full team
Work Environment
- Charge nurse and house supervisor available 24/7
- Respiratory therapists available 24/7
- Monitor techs are present
- Patients are on Philips monitoring
- PCT support is available

- Scrubs must be clean and appropriate in appearance
