Location

Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Schedule
- 12-hour day shifts
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend
- Holiday requirement varies
Unit Details
- Adult Medical Speciality Unit
- 56 beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-5 on 07:00-23:00 and 1:5-6 on 23:00-07:00
Required Qualifications
- Active IL license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
- BLS
- Must be able to work with central lines, tracheostomies, and chest tubes
Preferred
- EPIC experience
- Travel experience on a MedSurg floor
- Level I trauma center experience may be considered in place of travel experience if EPIC experience is present
Clinical Setting
- Acute care general medicine patients, including cellulitis, sepsis, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, syncope, anemia, uncontrolled diabetes, acute respiratory failure, liver failure, kidney failure, behavioral health, and addictions
Additional Details
- No call or standby requirement
- Floating may include other acute care general medicine areas: nephrology, neuro, ortho, and oncology
- Free charge RN on each floor
- PCT support is available
- House-wide telemetry is monitored remotely
- Bipap/Cpap used for sleep apnea, plus inhalers and suctioning
- Unit orientation is 2-3 shifts
- Any color professional scrubs are allowed
- No visible tattoos; no visible piercings except ears
- Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius
- Local clinicians receive a reduced bill rate
