Registered Nurse (CVICU) - Travel Assignment
Location: Nashville, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Overview
- 16-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) specializing in post-operative cardiac surgery care.
- High volume of advanced cardiac surgeries performed by 5 full-time surgeons.
- Intensivist coverage 24/7.
- Strong, experienced nursing team with excellent teamwork.
- Equipment includes Phillips bedside telemetry monitors, Hill-Rom beds, and Alaris IV pumps.
- Documentation system: Meditech.
- Patient ratios typically 1:2, with 1:1 for certain device patients.
- Floating policy: Charge nurses float as needed, usually to other ICUs or floors.
- Scheduling requires 2 weekends per month and coverage of 3 summer and winter holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Tennessee
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
- Proficient in PA catheter skills
- Proficient in hemodynamic monitoring skills
Work Environment & Dress Code
- Unit secretary and Administrative Care Tech available Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
- Student Nurse Externs assist with tech duties on variable shifts.
- Dress code: Scrubs in black, red, or galaxy blue; scrub jackets/vests only.
