Required Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Utah
- Cath Lab Technologist (2 years of experience)
- Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
- BLS
- ACLS
- RCIS or RCES or ARRT (R) or ARRT (CV) or ARRT (VI)
- Bachelor's degree in health science or diploma or associate degree in health science with one year of healthcare experience
- Electrophysiology Technician experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in health science must be from an accredited institution and will be verified
Key Responsibilities
- Prepares procedure rooms and completes post-procedure turnaround
- Records, calculates, and interprets hemodynamic data
- Assists with patient care during procedures as circulating, scrub, or monitoring tech
- Supports patients and families, provides patient education, and monitors patient condition during procedures
- Applies x-ray safety principles and operates imaging equipment
- Mixes and administers some medications under physician direction and supervision
- Performs point-of-care testing and quality assurance
- Assists with hemostasis at the end of procedures
- Documents procedures and associated events accurately
- Operates, calibrates, and troubleshoots equipment in the cardiac catheterization laboratory
- Mentors, coaches, and trains staff, including new CVIS I staff
- Responds to patient status changes during procedures
