Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery, you will be responsible for providing safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care. You will assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care while promoting quality outcomes and customer satisfaction. The role includes supervising licensed and non-licensed staff, mentoring, and participating in quality improvement initiatives. You will apply evidence-based practice and support a collaborative care environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments, making sound independent decisions.
- Develop, prioritize, and implement plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
- Provide education tailored to patient and family needs throughout the care continuum.
- Delegate tasks and mentor staff, fostering teamwork and professional development.
- Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement efforts.
- Promote a safe, clean, and secure care environment.
- Recognize complex patient data to prioritize care and anticipate discharge needs.
- Address cultural and ethnic considerations in care planning.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and research application.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
- Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current certifications in:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
