Job Description

Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of pediatric patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note all changes in physician orders.
• Assist physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
• Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients; observe physiological manifestations and intervene when necessary.
• Administer prescribed medications.
• Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
• Deliver competent patient care.
• Communicate care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge.
• Inform patients and families about hospital procedures.
• Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
• Delegate tasks to support staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma.
• Minimum 1 year of pediatric nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
