Job Description
- Provide nursing care in an outpatient dialysis center for patients with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease.
- Build long-term relationships with patients and their families in an intimate outpatient setting.
- Work as part of a small interdisciplinary team including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers, physicians, and center management.
- Deliver specialized, complex care to patients with multiple co-morbidities requiring unique treatment plans.
- Manage up to 12 patients per shift, supported by up to 3 Patient Care Technicians.
- Fast-paced environment requiring critical thinking, empathy, and hands-on nursing skills.
- Participate in clinical goal setting and quality improvement initiatives to improve patient health.
- Schedule typically includes 12-15 hour shifts, 3 days per week, Monday through Saturday (closed Sundays), with shifts between 5am and 9pm.
- Must have a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
- No on-call or floating required, but must be available to pick up shifts as needed to maintain weekly hours.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 1 year of outpatient dialysis experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
