Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to a group of patients during a designated time frame. Responsibilities include utilizing the nursing process, current nursing trends, technology, and resources to deliver quality care. The RN completes initial patient assessments, develops and implements plans of care, modifies care plans based on ongoing evaluation, and maintains accurate documentation. The role involves ensuring patient and employee safety, effective communication, and contributing to the professional development of peers.
Department-Specific Functions
- Provide direct care to CVICU patients, including post-operative CABG, vascular, and ICU status patients.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Maintain hospital and unit-based competencies.
- Perform hourly rounding on patients.
- Proactively assist internal and external customers.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience
- At least one (1) year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
- Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
