Provide professional nursing care to a group of patients using the nursing process.
Perform unit-specific responsibilities within the scope of service.
Implement procedures and theories related to digestive health nursing.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
Conduct initial patient assessments upon admission and develop plans of care based on patient and family needs.
Implement and modify plans of care through continuous evaluation.
Ensure patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing hazards.
Communicate effectively with team members and provide constructive feedback.
Identify personal learning needs and pursue professional development.
Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.

Prepare patients for digestive health procedures.
Complete assessments, review health history, start IVs, and provide patient education.
Monitor and sedate patients during procedures.
Care for patients in both phase 1 and phase 2 recovery.
Assist anesthesia providers (CRNA) during cases requiring anesthesia.
Supervise and evaluate patient care directly and through delegation.

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a GI Lab, including experience within the last year.
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
