ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Middletown, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night (4 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Seeking 2 RNs with Open Heart experience.
• Patient care includes:

  • Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG)
  • Post-operative Valve care
  • Impella device management
  • Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
  • Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
• Targeted patient ratios:

  • Critical Care: 1 nurse to 2 patients
  • Intermediate level: 1 nurse to 3 patients
• Unit details:

  • 16-bed ICU unit
  • Level III Trauma Center
  • Designated Neuro Unit for ischemic strokes receiving TPA
  • Care for COVID-positive patients, prone patients, hypothermia post cardiac arrest, 24-hour EEG monitoring
  • Family-centered care with no visiting hour restrictions
• Floating:

  • Travelers will float as needed to medically appropriate units, including high-risk respiratory/COVID units.
  • Floating may include nearby campuses within 15 miles.
• Weekend/Holiday availability required every other weekend.
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio.
• Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including ICU experience within the last year.
• Experience with Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG), post-operative Valve care, Impella device management, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT).
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) issued by AHA
