Cath Lab Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract
Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab with scrub experience. This is a travel/contract position with a 4x10 hour day shift schedule (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM), including rotating late shifts. No weekends or call requirements, but staff must rotate staying late if cases extend into the evening. The EP Lab closes on facility holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Virginia
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
- Electrophysiology Lab experience
- Scrub experience
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification
Scheduling & Work Details
- Shift: 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
- Rotating late shifts, no weekends or call
- Must be available to work or take call one holiday per 13-week contract (rotational)
- Charting system: Epic required
- Locals are not accepted unless living a minimum of 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license address
- First-time travelers are accepted
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Driver’s License/State ID with an address more than 50 miles from the facility (required within 48 hours of signing)
- E-Verify or attestation
- 7-year background check (covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years) within 1 year of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education verification of highest earned degree
- Primary source verification of state license within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification for RN license within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year confirming freedom from communicable diseases
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
- Fit test for mask within 1 year, updated annually (not required for students)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Required immunizations or positive titers: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Flu vaccination documentation or signed declination form during flu season
- Photo for badge (professional, plain background, no selfies or filters)
- Completion of facility-specific new hire paperwork and compliance checklists prior to start
- References: 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations required
- Skills checklist updated annually
Additional Notes
- Radiation badges for new candidates are not provided by the agency; new hires must obtain badges from the facility
- Facility is a Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated, and certified stroke center with nationally recognized cardiac cath lab excellence
- The hospital has six state-of-the-art cath labs performing advanced diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
