Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity

Location: Burlington, Vermont
Facility: Outpatient Dialysis (floating to St. Albans & Berlin as needed)


Job Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse

  • Contract Length: 16 weeks
  • Schedule:
    • Flexible shifts: 8, 10, or 12 hours as needed
    • Flexible start times
    • Saturday work required
    • No call
    • Must work 2 out of 4 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year's Day
    • No block schedules allowed
  • Orientation: Next available orientation on 12/29
  • Transportation: Reliable personal or rental vehicle required (public transportation not accessible)
  • Vehicle Requirements: All-season or snow tires required November through April

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
  • AHA BLS certification required
  • Prior travel experience preferred
  • Must be flexible with schedule
  • Complete and detailed work history required (including bed count, EMR, facility type)
  • Explain any employment gaps over 90 days

Certifications & Licenses

  • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as required by unit/job
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) as required by unit/job
  • State nursing license verification within 30 days of start
  • NURSYS verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP) updated annually
  • Tech Certification verification within 30 days of assignment start
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual)

Background & Compliance

  • Background check within 30 days of start covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • Education verification as required (primary source verification of highest degree)
  • Vermont Adult and Child Abuse Registry Consent Form required
  • Vermont Crime Information Center (VCIC) criminal background check required for Vermont placements
  • COVID-19 vaccination attestation and questionnaire required (must be completed prior to start)
  • Auto Registration Form and Photo for badge required (time sensitive)
  • Review of dress code and telephone usage policies prior to start
  • Completion of EPIC and Cornerstone modules prior to start (approx. 8 hours, non-billable)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • N95 Fit Mask test required prior to start and annually (specific mask types accepted)
  • Tdap vaccination within 10 years or titer
  • Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within past 12 months; chest X-ray if positive
  • Annual TB questionnaire if positive TB test
  • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella
  • Hepatitis B series and titer or signed declination
  • 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer
  • Flu vaccine or exemption required during flu season (10/1 – 3/31) for Vermont placements; declinations not accepted
  • COVID-19 vaccination or declination required
  • Pneumonia vaccination or declination required if assigned to New York facility
  • Drug testing within last 12 months (required for NY facilities)

Competencies & Exams

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required for all RNs
  • Color Blind Testing (online) required
  • Competency exams as required by specialty/profession

Documentation & History

  • Two professional references from assignments within last 3 years
  • Employment application required
  • Skills checklist within last 12 months
  • Verification of 2 years of most recent clinical work history

Additional Notes

  • No public transportation available; personal reliable transportation is essential
  • Must comply with all facility-specific policies and complete required documentation timely
  • Must provide passport-style photo with plain light background for badge
  • Must complete all required modules and submit proof of completion before start date
