Job Opportunity: Pediatric OR Registered Nurse
Location: Knoxville, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift Details
- Day shift
- 72 hours per week, scheduled Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday / Thursday, Friday
- Call required
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA only (Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required for OR and ER RNs, AHA only (Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted; PEARS not accepted)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for ER, AHA only (Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required for NICU and Labor & Delivery (AAP 8th Edition, valid for 2 years)
- State Nursing License verification prior to start and upon expiration
- National certification/verification (NURSYS) prior to start and upon expiration
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
Experience Requirements
- Pediatric experience preferred
- Surgery experience required
- Years of specialty experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 2 years typical for Pediatric OR RN roles (confirm with recruiter)
Additional Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) must be carried during hours of service
- Social Security card copy required
- Background check within 1 year, including social security trace, counties, nationwide, sex offender, FACIS Level 3, and international searches if applicable
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
- Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluation
- Skills checklist updated annually for applicable unit
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Competency exam as applicable to profession/specialty
- Physical exam within last 12 months
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Drug screening (10 panel) within 1 year
- Hepatitis A vaccine or declination (for some specialties)
- Seasonal flu vaccine required annually (no declinations or exemptions accepted)
Preferred Certifications
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) preferred for ER
