Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Job Description

Seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a travel contract assignment in respiratory and neuro diagnostics. This is a contract extension opportunity.


Required Qualifications

  • License: Valid Ohio RRT license required.

  • Certifications:

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA only, required for all candidates.
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA only, required for RRTs working in Emergency Department settings.
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications required only if working in NICU/Pediatric specialty (not required for this role unless specified).
    • Current NBRC credential required (CRT or RRT).
  • Experience:

    • Minimum 2 years of clinical practice in an acute care setting in a similar area to the assignment.
    • No explicit prior travel experience required.

Compliance and Background Requirements

  • Valid government-issued photo ID must be carried during assignment.
  • Criminal background check required prior to start; must be updated if there is a break in service of 2 or more months.
  • FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start; must be completed promptly as processing can take up to 30 days.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required monthly.
  • Transcript/Diploma verification required.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming ability to safely perform job functions.
  • Negative 2-step TB test or equivalent within 6 months of start, with annual renewals. Chest X-ray required if history of positive TB test.
  • Fit mask test within 12 months of start; must be updated annually.
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; updated annually.
  • Required immunizations or titers: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella. Declinations generally not accepted; boosters required for negative or equivocal titers.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31). No declinations accepted.

Onboarding and Training

  • Completion of facility-specific online training modules (approximately 4-5 hours) prior to start is mandatory. Modules must be completed on a computer using Chrome browser.
  • HIPAA acknowledgment and orientation safety manual acknowledgment required annually.
  • Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start and updated annually.
  • Unit-specific skills checklist required and must be updated annually.
  • Badge photo and badge pickup required prior to start.

Additional Requirements

  • Employment application must include at least 3 years of prior work history, including 2 years of clinical practice in an acute care setting relevant to the assignment.
  • Two recent satisfactory pre-employment references required.

This position requires adherence to all health, safety, and compliance standards as outlined above to ensure a smooth onboarding and successful assignment.
