Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Location: Pueblo, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room with experience across multiple surgical specialties including DaVinci Robotics, ENT, plastics, gynecology, urology, general surgery, and spine/neuro. This is a general OR role requiring flexibility to float between like units as needed.


Schedule

  • Shift Days: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday
  • Shift Hours: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Weekend Requirement: Yes, weekend call backup approximately every 8-10 weeks (weekend call is backup only and limited due to set weekend shifts)
  • On-call: Yes, as required per unit needs

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Colorado
  • Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience in all surgical specialties listed: DaVinci Robotics, ENT, plastics, gynecology (GYN), urology, general surgery, and spine/neuro
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs

Certifications

  • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Preferred
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Preferred

Additional Requirements

  • Must complete and maintain required background checks and verifications including 7-year background check, education verification, and state-specific checks
  • Required health documents include:
    • Physical exam within 1 year
    • Fit mask test within 12 months (specific mask types required)
    • Immunizations and titers for TDAP, TB, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella
    • Drug testing within 30 days of start and annually
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or facility exemption during flu season
    • COVID vaccination proof or signed declination
  • Must pass Ishihara color blindness exam prior to start
  • Required competency exams and annual updates including medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, OSHA, and core competency parts I-III
  • References: 2 references from the last 2 years required, including one from the last year, preferably from a Charge RN, Manager, or Supervisor
  • Employment history verification for the last 3 years required

Additional Notes

  • Maximum of 10 return-to-office (RTO) days allowed, with blackout periods during certain holiday and peak dates
  • Scrub color: Royal Blue

  • Number of rooms: 11

This position requires a highly skilled OR nurse comfortable working across multiple surgical specialties with flexibility for weekend and on-call coverage as needed.
