Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse

Location: Bellevue, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15)
Start Dates: April 6 or April 20
Schedule Notes:

• No block schedule; must be flexible
• RTO (Return to Office) must be 5 days or less
• Must be available to work at least 2 of 3 holidays if scheduled

Job Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 3 years as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery
• Must have experience with:

  • Magnesium drips
  • C-sections
  • Floating to Post-Partum unit as needed
• EPIC electronic health record experience required

Required Certifications and Licenses

• Current Registered Nurse license valid in Washington
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certified (RQI not accepted)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA certified (RQI not accepted)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AHA certified (RQI generally not accepted; case-by-case)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA certified (check unit requirements)
• IV Therapy certification (will be completed onsite if needed)

Competency Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs)
• Patient Restraints Competency Exam (required for all RNs)
• Core Competency Exams (Parts I, II, III) annually with minimum 85% score
• OSHA Mandatory training annually with minimum 85% score
• IV Therapy/Infusion Exam (if working in infusion/IV therapy)

Health and Background Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required
• Background check covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including federal, state, nationwide, and international searches if applicable
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Immunizations or titers required for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (highly preferred) or declination
  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (proof of series, titer, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year (QGold, T-SPOT, or 2 PPDs)
• 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Flu vaccine or facility-specific declination required year-round

Additional Requirements

• No less than two satisfactory references from previous employers within the last year, including evaluation of clinical competency and reliability (references must be from manager, supervisor, or charge RN)
• Employment application copy required
• Completion of facility-specific modules and compliance forms after orientation
• Review and sign facility policies including code of conduct, confidentiality, appearance/dress code, internet usage agreement, and fraud/waste/abuse training (annual)

Important Notes

• Must be flexible with schedule and able to work night shifts and holidays as required
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
