Overview

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Washington
- NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (3 years of experience)
- NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Clinical Setting
- Level III or IV NICU
- Gestational ages cared for: 23–24 weeks
- No ECMO
- Supports CPAP/BiPap, high-frequency vents, oscillators, vents, blood and blood product administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, cooling/warming blanket, feeding tubes, PICC/central lines, and syringe pumps
- Attends high-risk deliveries and neonatal surgeries
Work Expectations
- Must be open to floating to different campuses
- Rarely floats, but may be assigned to SCN or Pediatrics/NBN; if floated to Pediatrics, care is limited to infants/newborns
- Block scheduling may be approved if preferred
Additional Notes
- Previous permanent employees of affiliated facilities must have been separated from the health system for at least 3 months to qualify
- Travelers usually do not admit babies because a dedicated admit nurse handles that role
