Job Overview
- Location: Columbus, Ohio

- Contract length: 16 weeks
- Shift: Night, 3x12 hours

- Patient population: Adults and geriatrics
- Unit type: Mixed acuity surgical oncology unit with PCU and med-surg patients
Key Responsibilities
- Provide care for surgical oncology, hepatobiliary, colorectal, and plastics patients
- Perform chemotherapy-related care, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, and management of oncologic emergencies
- Manage cytokine release syndrome, insulin drips, and heparin drips
- Follow infection prevention and fall prevention protocols
- Float within scope of practice if needed
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Preferred Qualifications
- ONS Chemo certification
Additional Notes
- Rotating day/night scheduling may occur depending on department needs
- No set or blocked scheduling
- Weekend coverage is variable based on unit needs
- EPIC charting is used
- Travelers may be required to park through available permit options at additional cost

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
