Overview

• Travel/contract role in North Kansas City, Missouri
• Start date: ASAP
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day, 3x12 hours, 6:45 AM–7:15 PM
• Hours per week: 36
• Weekend requirement: Every third weekend
• Local candidates allowed

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Labor and Delivery experience with 2 years of experience
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring
• NRP
• AWHONN Intermediate
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with Cerner

Required Skills

• Blood and blood product administration
• CVC/PICC line care
• Peripheral IV start and maintenance
• Medication administration including anticonvulsants, antihypertensives, heparin, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy, and oxytocin
• Circumcision assistance and parent education
• Car seat education
• Cord care
• Discharge teaching
• IV antibiotics
• Newborn assessment
• Neonatal abstinence syndrome care
• Pain management, including opioids and pain assessment
• Baby-friendly protocols
• Couplet care
• Incision care
• Isolation precautions
• Phlebotomy
• Vaccine administration

Additional Requirements

• First-time travelers not accepted
• Background check required before start
• Missouri EDL search required before start
• Drug screen required within 3 months of start
• Physical exam required within 1 year of start
• Negative TB screening or chest X-ray required within 1 year of start
• Flu vaccination required; approved medical or religious exemptions accepted
• COVID vaccination required; facility waiver accepted
• Fit testing required onsite
• 2 recent references required
• Skills checklist required
• Safe medication administration agreement required
• Annual training and competency documentation required
• CPI required starting in January 2026
• EKG/dysrhythmia testing and related course requirements apply to this unit
• CEU requirements apply for clearance and renewal
