Registered Nurse - Telemetry Unit (Night Shift)

Location: Montclair, California
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 26 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Job Summary

• Provide safe, direct patient care on a telemetry unit using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Responsible and accountable for assigned patients’ care, including cardiac monitoring and communication with physicians regarding clinical changes.
• Guide patient/family teaching and supervise other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or treatment response.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
• Minimum of 1 year telemetry experience, with telemetry experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Completion of Workplace Violence Prevention training (DCI/BVP).
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Records system.

Required Credentials and Compliance (Must be completed prior to or at onboarding)

• Sexual Harassment Prevention Training (valid for 2 years).
• COVID-19 Vaccine: 2 doses plus booster or completed declination.
• MMR: Proof of 2 vaccines or positive immunity titer.
• Annual Respirator Fit Test.
• Hepatitis B: Record of 3 immunizations, immune titer, or declination.
• Influenza Vaccine or declination (seasonal requirement).
• Tuberculosis (TB) Test within 1 year of start date.
• Varicella vaccination or immunity titer.
• Tdap vaccination (declination may not be accepted in some locations).
• Annual Physical/Health Statement confirming clearance to work.
• National Criminal Background Check within 1 year of start date.
• Drug Screening: Minimum 10-panel test including THC saliva test (California-specific requirements).
• Professional license verification via Nursys.
• Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9 or agency attestation).
• Completion of required competency exams and skills checklists with minimum scores of 80% (including specialty exam, core competencies, basic pharmacology, and rhythm interpretation).
• Prime Agency Attestation and SAM/EPLS exclusion search.
• Education verification (diploma or transcripts).
• Two professional references required (one must be from a manager or direct supervisor).
• Up-to-date resume reflecting recent work history.
