Physical Therapist (PT) - Travel Position

Location: Spruce Pine, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Setting: 60-bed acute care hospital with 2 outpatient clinics
• Staff: 19 total; Day shift includes 3 PTs, 3 PTAs, 2 OTs, 1 COTA, 1 SLP
• Patient Load: 9-11 patients per day per full-time equivalent (FTE)
• Equipment: PT modalities, pool, cardiovascular equipment, Biodex balance system, fitness center
• Electronic Medical Records (EMR):

  • Acute care: CERNER
  • Outpatient: Nethealth Xfits (formerly ReDoc)

Job Requirements & Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience in both outpatient and acute care settings
• De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting
• Knowledge of Physical Therapist (PT) Assessment or USP 800 Hazardous Drug Risk

Work Schedule & Environment

• Hours per week: Approximately 36 hours
• Weekend Rotation: Every 5th weekend; Saturdays involve seeing priority patients for 2-3 hours; no Sunday visits
• Dress Code:

  • Acute care: Purple (eggplant) scrubs
  • Outpatient: Business attire or polo with khakis
