Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel Assignment

Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Description

• Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU): 4-bed unit focused on adult and geriatric patients recovering post cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and other surgical procedures requiring critical care.
• Care includes complex invasive hemodynamic monitoring and post-operative recovery.
• Stepdown Unit (CSU): 8-bed unit for recovery after cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery.
• Both units emphasize a patient-centered approach supported by a cardiovascular educator.

Work Schedule & Environment

• Holidays as required.
• Every other weekend required.
• 36 or 48 hours per week available.
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals.
• Dress code: Solid navy scrubs.
• Patient-facing clinical position.
• On-site work (not remote).
• Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech.
• Parking available.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alabama
• Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

• AHA PALS certification if working in pediatric units (not mandatory for this adult-focused role).

Additional Information

• Timesheet approver roles assigned (not relevant for candidate).
• Must demonstrate high professional competency in critical care nursing.
