Required Certifications & Licenses

BLS (Basic Life Support)
HWC (available on-site)
NIH Stroke Scale certification
Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Virginia

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Additional Information

Orientation occurs bi-weekly on Tuesdays
Random drug screening and criminal background consent required
Professional dress code: scrubs allowed, no casual wear
Must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as a traveler

Experience with common Med-Surg diagnoses and treatments preferred
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a community hospital setting

This position offers the opportunity to work in a 250-bed academic community hospital with comprehensive surgical services, 24-hour emergency department, cardiac rehabilitation, oncology services, and advanced wound care. The hospital is recognized as a Chest Pain Center and Advanced Primary Stroke Center.
